Athlete: Kurt Warner

One of my favorite athletes is Kurt Warner. Of course Warner did some interesting things on the football field but what I like him best for is his attitude and because he never gave up even though it always seemed the odds were stacked against him. Coming out of a small school he went undrafted, nobody wanted him. He got some tryouts here and there but nobody really wanted him, he got cut in training camp by the Green Bay Packers. He had no prospects in football so he started working at the Hyvee grocery store. He decided to go to the Arena Football League and where he excelled. He finally gets signed to an NFL team but then gets shipped off to Europe where he also excelled. Then the St. Louis Rams starting quarterback goes down in preseason Warner steps up and takes them to a Superbowl and gets the W.  He then takes them to another Superbowl but unfortunately loses to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. He then goes to the New York Giants but doesn’t do to well and backs up Eli Manning, but he does not give up he continues to try and ends up with the Arizon Cardinals. He started to do very well with the team and got them winning. And then there was the Wildcard playoff game with the other worldly score, where Warner went on a rampage and had more touchdowns than incomplete passes. Just one of the greatest games I have ever seen and the highest scoring game in playoff history with over 1,000 yards of offense, just a brilliant game. He took the Cardinals to the Superbowl for the first time in their existence. Unforunately they lost to the Steelers in the Superbowl with a miracle play. So even when first round picks are not guanranteed to stay in football very long, there is this undrafted player that keep on getting shot down but persevered and made great things happen. A man that was just glad to be in football, won the most important game in football and went to the show a total of three times. Another thing that I admire about him is his faith. He always believed that good things happen when you try hard and believe in God and even though you might get rejected a whole lot and there is a plan. So I admire Kurt Warner for his resilience and attitude of never giving up and his faith in believing in God.
